Peitsmeyer named BHS head football coach
A familiar name and face is set to lead the Bellefontaine football program.
Pending board approval, Bellefontaine Athletic Director Matt Comstock has selected Aaron Peitsmeyer as the Chiefs’ next head football coach.
Peitsmeyer was the Chiefs’ associate head coach in ’23.
Aaron, who graduated from BHS in ’02, played football for his father, Greg Peitsmeyer.
Aaron was an assistant coach at Marysville for 15 years (‘07-‘21).
He was the defensive coordinator on the ’21 team, which advanced to the Division I regional final.
Comstock said, “We felt that hiring from within our current staff was the best way to continue the momentum and philosophies that have been built over the past few seasons. Coach P knows what Chieftain Football is about and takes pride in its success.”
Peitsmeyer is a business teacher at BHS.
He succeeds Jason Brown, who led the Chiefs the last 4 seasons.
The next board meeting will be January 8th at 6:30 p.m. in the Distance Learning Center.
The board will vote on Comstock’s recommendation that evening.
