Indiana Tech – Dolce’s Pole Vault Record Highlights Another Strong Performance

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – In just her second collegiate meet, Evelyn Dolce etched her name in the Indiana Tech record books on Friday with a school record effort in the pole vault at the Warrior Indoor Invitational in Fort Wayne.

Dolce cleared 3.95m (12’11.5″) to surpass a record set by Carly Schmidt (3.94m) in 2015.  Her performance won the event by over two feet and puts her #1 in the nation through this weekend’s action.

Davarri Barthell also had himself a day, securing an “A” standard in the 60m (6.82) and the long jump (7.31m).

Other Highlights:

  • Mason Murphy wins the weight throw in 16.07m while teammates Christian Dixon (14.57) and Ian Slebrch (14.23) move into 8th and 9th on the all-time list.
  • Lisa Voyles (1:33.48) and Jo’Deci Irby (1:36.48) both hit the “A” standard in the 600m. Voyles’ time is a new PR and all-time #4 mark at Indiana Tech.
  • Trishelle Ganaway wins the long jump and gets an NAIA “B” mark in the process in 5.55m.
  • Derica Gibson (7.70) nabs a season best in the 60 meters to finish 2nd. Niobe Hiolder takes 3rd in 7.87.
  • Esau Hayes (6.84) leads a dominant performance for Tech in the men’s 60 finals. Tyler Dixon (6.85), Davarri Barthell (6.88), Justin Harper (6.97), and Joshua Ballard (7.05) finish in the top six.
  • Big marks in the men’s long jump as Davarri Barthell gets the “A” standard and a new #8 mark in 7.31m (23’11.75″). Darian Long also grabs an “A” in 7.20 (23’7.5″) while Jacquez Lawson (7.09m/23’3.25″) and Jaelan Stewart (7.00m/22’11.5″) get the “B”.
  • Women’s 4×400 team of Irby, Bennett, Warthen, Olapade run 3:56.06 to grab the NAIA “A” standard.
  • Aaron Heisser gets the “A” standard in the 600m at 1:21.95. Braden Crosby also gets a “B” in 1:22.74.
  • Giulio Romano takes the win in the 3000m in 8:56.77. He’s followed by Juan Caballero (9:04.19) in 2nd and Samuel Vorderwuelbecke (9:07.83) in 4th.
  • Trishelle Ganaway with an event win in the women’s triple jump with a mark of 11.03m (36’2.25″).
  • Kayla Moody (58.42) and Junae Bennett (58.59) collect “B” standards in the women’s 400m.
  • McKale Hood finishes 2nd and gets the NAIA “B” standard in the high jump at 2.02m. Jaelan Stewart finishes 3rd at 1.99m.
  • Javon Sanders grabs a “B” standard in the 400m at 49.72. Doensae Dorsey (50.95), Kamari Rush (51.11), and Jonathan Hairston (51.41) also finish in the top five.
  • Javon Sanders runs 8.02 in the 60h finals to finish 2nd. Ahumad Williams (8.22) takes 3rd and Joe Mitchell (8.44) is 6th.
  • Derica Gibson (24.87), Kiya Pogue (25.92), and Aaliyah Frederick (25.96) go 1-2-3 for Indiana Tech in the women’s 200m.
  • Katlyn Jones (8.85) wins the 60 hurdles. Caylin Chunn (9.69) is 6th and Erionte Carlton (9.71) is 7th.
  • Tyler Dixon (22.41) leads a strong Tech contingent in the men’s 200m, finishing 2nd.
  • Jacquez Lawson finishes 2nd in the triple jump in 13.86m.
  • Leviticus Land finishes 2nd overall and earns the #8 spot on the all-time Indiana Tech list in the shot put at 14.71.
  • Brianna Goins completes her first pentathlon with 2,460 points. She finished 2nd in the 60 (9.42) and 3rd in the shot put (9.84m).
The Warriors will return to action after the holidays.  Next up is the Bob Eubanks Open at Grand Valley State on January 13th.
